Assess the issue first—no need to send all materials right away

Genealogy Consultation

Briefly describe the family scope, existing old genealogies, and desired outcomes. We will first determine whether online genealogy building, materials organization, update and verification, digitization, or typesetting and printing is suitable.

Initial Communication

Provide five key summaries to begin the assessment

01

Family Scope

Approximate number of people, generations, branches, and main regions. If uncertain, estimated values are fine.

02

Source Materials

Whether there are old genealogies, spreadsheets, photos, oral recordings, and how far the information has currently been entered.

03

Main Goals

Whether you want to first preserve the data, clarify relationships, complete an updated genealogy, enable digital search, or print and distribute copies.

04

Participants

Whether there are contacts for each branch, elders, and final approvers, and who is responsible for day-to-day materials coordination.

05

Expected Deliverables

Whether you need an online genealogy, e-book, printed genealogy, digital archive of the original genealogy, or structured data.

Privacy

Do not send sensitive originals for now

ID documents, complete household registration records, phone numbers, addresses, and unpublished old genealogies do not need to be uploaded during the initial consultation.

Communication Process

From consultation to formal handover

Submit a Summary

Fill in the project type, region, materials, and goals.

Follow-Up Questions

Further confirm the scale, breakpoints, and delivery boundaries.

Sample Assessment

If necessary, review a small number of desensitized sample pages or data with authorization.

Define the Scope

List the phases, deliverables, responsibilities of both parties, and acceptance methods.

Confirm the Plan

Clarify the quotation, boundaries for changes, permissions, and schedule.

Secure Handover

After cooperation is confirmed, hand over the full set of materials according to the checklist.

Materials Security

Formal materials handover should use the agreed accounts, permissions, and file checklist, and records of receipt, processing, and delivery should be retained. Without authorization, original family genealogies, information on living members, or consultation content will not be publicly displayed.

First describe the current state of the materials, then determine the appropriate approach

For the initial consultation, you do not need to upload the complete genealogy books, identity documents, or private information of living family members. Please describe the scale, existing materials, and desired deliverables.

Consultation details will not be made public on the website.
